I’ve set up my products (artwork) in my woocommerce product section. I would like to have a separate page (Portfolio) where I feature specific work on a monthly basis. I would like to link the images in the Portfolio to their respective Woocommerce product pages when the portfolio image is clicked. Please tell me if this is possible and where to find code to do this.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! As it’s not usual so not usually possible without custom development. You can follow this thread if you are trying to achieve something like this – https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/directing-an-item-in-portfolio-to-a-page/#post-36075

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

Thank you Rupok! I appreciate the quick response.

I realized what I did to create my “Featured” page–I utilized a regular page–I set it up with rows and columns and can easily put in a description row beneath each Product Image row.

Also figured out I could just put a link on each image on that page to go to the respective product page.

It looks as though if I use the actual Portfolio function, then I have to enter all my artwork in twice–once into the Products list and once into the Portfolio list. That seems like a lot unnecessary data entry. Much easier to simply enter them as I describe above for my particular purpose, i.e., to feature 5-15 works each month, each with a double-click link to the product page.

Is there any particular advantage to going through all the trouble of double entry (product and portfolio)? Or conversely, might I encounter any problems with the way I describe above?

    Thank you again!

    Hi There,

Your setup where in you’ve added a regular page with ROWS and COLUMNS then added image with link is ok. With this approach, you do have total control on every setup and settings like links.

On the other hand, the advantage of adding it again as portfolio is you can use the filter feature available for portfolio index page. Although adding it on both products and portfolio is really a lot of work.

    Hope this helps.
