Still learning the ropes but Will like to create a site exactly like this: http://light-header.politics.cmsmasters.net/ using this great X theme.

A site like that is definitely possible with X and Cornerstone, you’ll want to use a slider either layer slider or Revolution Slider to replicate the top slider, then you’ll need to make use of sections and rows in Cornerstone with section backgrounds for the parralax effect.
