ArmshouseGroupParticipantHi there,
A client recently got in touch because the Layerslider on their homepage isn’t showing up on mobile devices, just a white space where the slides should be. Sliders on other pages work OK.
I’ve removed and re-added the slider from the page, I’ve deleted and re-installed Layerslider from addons, cleared all caches (browser, W3 Total Cache and Cloudflare), but no joy.
Any ideas? Website is http://www.sentryexecutive.com
Many thanks,

Rue NelModeratorHello Hyder,
Thank you for providing the information. Upon checking, there is a JS error on smaller screens. This is the reason why the slider is not visible on mobile. Would you mind providing us the url of your site with login credentials so we can take a closer look at this error and fix the issue?

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for providing the information. I have checked your site and I couldn’t find anything that may have caused the issue. This could be a caching issue since you are using CloudFlare. Please login to your cloudFlare account and clear your cite cache before testing your site again.
Please let us know how it goes.

ArmshouseGroupParticipantHi Rue,
I’ve paused Cloudflare and I think you’ve deactivated W3 Total Cache, so there should be no caching at the moment. Unfortunately, it hasn’t made a difference.
Other sliders on other pages work OK on mobile, just not on the homepage. I tried swapping the homepage slider for one of the others and it was still the same, but that slider has a watermark logo and that’s all that appears – the slide content is still blank.
Is there anything else you can suggest?

RadModeratorHi there,
I just checked and it’s working on mobile, maybe it’s your browser cache. And please provide a screenshot of what you’re getting, browser version and device as well.
Thanks!

ArmshouseGroupParticipantHi Rad,
That’s interesting, I still can’t see the slider on the mobile homepage here. I’ve attached screenshots for both iOS and Android devices (iPhone and Nexus 6, Mobile Safari & Chrome).
Not sure what version number the iPhone is (that’s my client’s) The Nexus 6 is running Chrome 55.0.2883.91 on Android 7.0.0 Build/NBD91P.
Any ideas would be welcome,

ChristianModeratorI see that it’s not showing on mobile. Please turn off all third party plugins including Cloudflare while we investigate.
Thanks.

ArmshouseGroupParticipantHi Christian,
Everything is disabled now except the following (I did disable them briefly to check, but need them on for at least some minimum functions ie customer Email contact):
- Contact Form 7 Version 4.6.1
- Contact Form 7 – Dynamic Text Extension Version 2.0.2.1
- Cornerstone – Version 1.3.3
- Google Authenticator – Version 0.48
- LayerSlider WP – Version 6.1.0
I’ve also tried deleting the column, row and section and recreating it. I tried with a different background colour to prove that caching wasn’t taking place and you should see the BG of the section is now black not white, but still no slider.
Let me know if you find anything,

RadModeratorHi there,
I can see it now, looks random. And it’s due to background video http://sentryexecutive.com/wp-content/uploads/senex_hvbg.mp4
When I removed it, the slider starts appearing. On some devices, the video embed is wrapped by
<script></script>which triggers javascript error, which also prevents the slider from working. This is my first times seeing this, there is something in your installation.Could you try it in clean installation of WordPress and X theme?
Thanks!

ArmshouseGroupParticipantHi Rad,
Good detective work there!
I might try a clean installation of WP and X if I can get the client to sign-off on it. For now I think I’ll just remove the bg video from that section.
I’m not sure why it has suddenly started doing that. The bg video was present from site launch in June 2016 and the homepage slider has always worked fine on mobile. This issue might be as a result of a recent update to WP or Layerslider (or some other plugin?) Oh well…
Thanks for your help,
