MishoParticipantHi Guys!
On this homepage, https://www.progreso.hr/, Layerslider broke after WordPress update. I guess it was the last WP update, because before that it worked.
The styles in the Layerslider backend are not applied. The image is too large, and Even paragraph styles are not being read. I had to add temporary classes in headlines on the slider “homeslide-1” “homeslide-2″, and added some small CSS in the bottom of Cornerstone CSS editor to at least separate the paragraphs with some margins.
There are some inline styles that are applied, but not those from the LS stylesheet.
The active slider on the homepage is [layerslider id=”3″], but this affects it’s copy too, [layerslider id=”4”].Clearing cache and deactivating some plugins did not help.
I am attaching the picture how the slider looked like before the update.
Is there a way to make Layerslider CSS readable again? Is this a bug? Thanks!

RupokMemberHi there,
Where did you add the CSS? I can’t see any custom CSS in Customize related to Layerslider. It would be better if you could point us the CSS.
Thanks!

MishoParticipantHi! The css is at the bottom of the Cornerstone custom CSS editor, when the Homepage is opened in Cornerstone.
It is just for margines, so Paragraphs don’t get overlaid one on top of the other.
Also, some css is inline, on the slider itself. Headlines are in a custom html box. This inline css is working properly.
Thanks!

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for pointing out. I have checked and found an unrelated slash on your code – http://prntscr.com/ehkasu
Let’s remove this to get expected result. The issue is not related to update or anything rather this extra slash.
Cheers!

MishoParticipantHi,
Please excuse me for not being clear enough.
1. Layerslider worked perfectly until the update
2. Without touching anything, Layerslider broke after the update
3. Paragraph styles were lost. Heading, subheading and the text below collapsed, as there were no margins, also other Layerslider CSS was lost.
4. I have added-in that CSS in Cornerstone just as a temporary fix. Still looks bad, but at least it is readable.
5. I didn’t liked the way I “fixed” the image, so I have added-in that slash on purpose to disable just that rule. I could have commented it out with the same effect.I had some inline css in those paragraphs, and that is why fonts still have different sizes and color. Layerslider does not output other CSS in the frontend. Everything is broken, after the updated.
For example, the image in the first slide was set to height of 620 px (please see attachement).
It still is. But on the front-end, it is stretched to full width, because LS CSS does not take effect anymore. After the update.I hope this makes sense. 🙂
Thanks!March 9, 2017 at 12:49 am #1400171
RadModeratorHi there,
As by checking, the size is now calculated by javascript and any CSS will not work. Forcing it will only force its container but not the content positioning. The slider is now maintaining the aspect ratio, hence, if width increase, height too. And if height increase, then width too. In here https://s3.amazonaws.com/community-themeco/app/uploads/2017/03/08083248/progreso-slider.jpg your slider is almost rectangle, but if you’ll check your slider now in admin, it’s almost square, hence, it will appear square on the front too.
The solution is reworking your slider to fit it in rectangle dimension. And in your slider setting, try switching to different layout type, like full-width instead of responsive.
I tried CSS and it only breaks it.
Thanks!

MishoParticipantI see.
I have checked the log, and there was a Layerslider update, from 5.6.4 to 6.1.6. 8 days ago. So it must be it.
Is there a way to get 5.6.4., so I roll back until I am ready to make a new one. My schedule is full and this is a busy site. Can you please send it to my email?
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
Even if you roll it back, the settings and data are already saved in the database. The latest bundled version for X theme is 6.1.6. Your Layerslider seems old, and you shouldn’t apply updates on live especially if there is a big version gap.
How about rollback your site from the backup if available?
Thanks!
