Hi I am new to using X, and only just got Cornerstone working after discovering the Hostgator issue, and getting it resolved. I am getting to grips with Cornerstone, but what I need to do is create a landing page, with a sign up box, that then takes the customer to a thank you page with a download of a PDF. I can see how to create a modal in ConvertPLug, and I can see how to create elements of the page in Cornerstone. What I can’t see is how to get the pretty ConvertPlug box into the page. I guess I want to display the modal inline, how do I do that?
Then I can see that I would put a redirect URL in the ‘submission’ options, and that would go to my thankyou page, where I could have the download.
So it is that bit in the middle, how to get the sign up into the page? I see there is a place for shortcode/custom css, but I am not clear how to use this. I am not a designer or coder. I have tried so many options with visual composer, ‘Bloom’ plugin, Optimize Press plugin (which doesn’t seem to work on my site), Thrive plugin which didn’t work on the site either. I think the Cornerstone/ConveryPlug option is the answer but just totally stuck with how it all links together!February 7, 2016 at 11:54 am #784303Hey there,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, this particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it. As such, you will need to investigate this particular issue on your own or seek help from a developer should you not feel comfortable making these changes yourself. If you have any further questions about the theme, we are more than happy to provide you with assistance on these inquiries.
Thank you for your understanding.
February 8, 2016 at 10:15 am #785624OK, thankyou for replying. I can’t find any information on the site on how to use the extensions within cornerstone. I am assuming that the extensions should work within cornerstone, so is that correct? Or do I have to know how to write CSS in order to use the Cornerstone/extensions? I am just confused as to how much they link together. I am not a developer but I used to work in IT (non web related), so I know that sometimes what seems obvious to the person who understands the system can seem like a black box to anyone else. At the moment it feels like there is a way to use the extension within cornerstone, but that i am missing it. Or, is it that in order to use the ConvertPlug extension and create a landing page, I do have to use CSS, in which case I will have to speak to someone about it as I don’t know CSS. But I don’t want to go down that road if it is just me missing something simple. I have used Popupally before, for example, and it creates a short code, that is then within the options on the page, for adding the inline sign up box. So is there a way to create the short code within the Convert plug extension, and then have that shortcode available within Cornerstone?
February 8, 2016 at 11:35 am #785768Right, it’s ok. I have got an answer from the ConvertPlug support pages. As I suspected, I had missed an important stage. There is a way to do this using shortcodes, no need to know CSS.
