Hi,
I have created several full width conthent areas on my webpage using X integrity. The parallax scrolling setting works smoothly while scrolling down the page but only for a minute or so, after a minute the parallax backgrounds become jumpy.
I am building on a local host so I can’t give a url as an example. Do you have any suggestions.
Thanks,
BruceMarch 10, 2015 at 10:06 am #224336Hi There,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.March 10, 2015 at 10:57 am #224387I have made several content rows with a background image. I have edited the settings of each row so the background parallax setting checkbox has been ticked.
I have just realised that the revolution slider is the problem. After I disabled the slider from above the masthead the parallax backgrounds stopped jumping and started running smoothly.
Would there be any reason that the revolution slider would affect the parallax backgrounds?
Thanks for your time, thanks for your quick response,

Could you please provide us with a URL to the page that you’re having this issue? So that we can take a closer look and assist you with a possible workaround.
Thanks!
March 23, 2015 at 11:48 am #233477Hi,
I am working on a local host at the moment so I will not be able to give a url.
I think it’s google chrome on a mac that is making the parallax rows jumpy as they are perfectly fine on all other browsers.
March 23, 2015 at 2:36 pm #233600Hi There,
Regretfully saying this that it is so difficult to replicate your issue on our side. So far parallax background with other site where fine. By the time you will upload your site in a development site or live site, let us know, we could check it right away then advise best we could to help you.
Thank you for understanding.
Cheers.

August 13, 2015 at 8:11 pm #358725Hello Chris,
Can you provide a video screencast of the issue you’re having? I did check your site and I can’t duplicate the issue. This is so we can help you better. Please also provide the browser and version you’re using. Thank you.
August 16, 2015 at 11:11 am #360521Current version of Chrome and OS on the mac.
http://files.giantseattle.com/x-theme/Screen-Cast.movWorks fine on Firefox. Jumpy on Chrome.
August 16, 2015 at 6:01 pm #360667Hi there,
Thanks for updating the thread! I don’t have the jumpy issue on my end but it seems that firefox does scroll better. I am on a windows computer though. Are you using a touch mouse, trackpad, pen and tablet, or regular scroll mouse to scroll on your site?
Would you mind testing to see if your issue is mechanical? Different scroll devices have different settings. Chrome will interpret scroll different from Firefox. To check, see if you experience the issue while scrolling using the scroll bar on the right? Meaning drag it up and down instead of relying on the scroll wheel.
It it doesn’t happen when dragging the scrollbar, then the issue is most likely the combination of chrome and your pointing device.
You could also try enabling smooth-scroll within chrome. go to: chrome://flags/ and find smooth scroll and enable it.
Lastly, you can also try using our smooth scroll extension.
Hope this helps – thanks!
August 20, 2015 at 6:42 pm #364787It’s jumping when using just the keyboard up and down, but less than with the mouse. I’m using standard issue mac mouse and keyboard with no extra software.
August 21, 2015 at 1:05 am #365046Hi Chris,
That’s natural behaviour of Mac scrolling using arrow and mouse (not mac’s mouse). Mac use easing to create a seamless smooth scrolling effect (bounce like effect before it scroll). And because using arrow and mouse wheel creates a small stepping upon scrolling, the smooth movement becomes a nudging effect.
Usually smooth effect is created if you’re scrolling to distant position (large step). But using arrow and mouse, the smooth scroll triggered in every press of the button or scroll wheel is resulting very tiny steps per second.
You can try scrolling other sites using arrow and mouse wheel, even this forum. And you’ll notice the nudging. I don’t know if there is a fix for that since it’s mac related.
As for your site, the parallax is moving along with smooth scroll, thus it will also move according to nudges caused by scrolling by arrow or mouse wheel.
Thanks!
