I received an email today saying I would no longer be able to use Clef after 6/6. (From Jesse Pollack, support@getclef.com). In it there was information about transitioning to another two-factor authorization etc.

Is it true that I won’t be able to use Clef on X theme? What should we do next as our sign-in options? Thanks so much–and bummed because I loved Clef. 🙁

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! Clef is a third party plugin. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Ok–I understand you can’t offer Clef (or non-Clef) support, as it’s not actually part of the X theme. I guess my real question is this:

When an integrated part of X theme changes or disappears, will X theme later provide another option in an update? I ask because this was one part of the X theme that seemed to be so seamlessly worked into the user experience.

Just wondering if I should be watching for that in the coming months, or just dive in on my own to come up with my own solution through the Clef developer’s recommendations now.

    Thanks.

    HI there,

As for that, we can’t really specifically tell which plugin will work seamlessly with X if they are not part of the bundled plugins offered with the theme since we conduct extensive testing to the bundled plugins to make sure that they are fully compatible with X.

As for the other third party plugins that will not be supported by the currently developer, it would be best to gather some opinions and suggestions from the end users of the theme.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, that helps, thank you. I guess I thought Clef was part of the bundled theme–I use it so extensively, I’d started to think they were part of the same package!

    I appreciate your help. 🙂
