princessfromageParticipantThe way the article excepts and Read More tag is being displayed on Post Category pages is currently buggy.
Customiser is set up display an except on the Category archive pages.
All was working fine for articles, excerpt and Read More being display for articles created with via Cornerstone and text content using the Coloumnise element. Now any new article created (not duplicated from one of the ones that does display the excerpt correctly), and done the same way (text content is in a Columnise element just as with the one that is still working) is not showing the excerpt text on the category archive pages.
Creating a new article with Cornerstone and using a a TEXT element with text in it, does seem to feed through to the exceprt… but not when using COLOUMNISE.The read more button also stopped displaying under some of the exceprts for some posts.
Changing the category of the articles seems to have no effect.
Changing and Re-saving the except length in Customiser: Blog does not fix.Love love love the theme.. but this is looking a bit buggy.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in!
WordPress generates an excerpt automatically by selecting the first 55 words of the post. If in case you are using Cornerstone, the auto excerpt fails because it will detect that the content is using shortcodes. This is what happen in your posts. There are no auto excerpt being generated since you have created your post with Cornerstone. To display the excerpt, you have to use the manual excerpts. To add an excerpt to a post, simply write one in the Excerpt field under the post edit box. Please see the screenshot below: http://prntscr.com/9j98do
Excerpts are optional hand-crafted summaries of your content that can be used in your theme. Learn more about manual excerpts here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Excerpt
Hope this helps.
