ArtOfSpringParticipantHi there,
my latest purchase of X seems to have less blog category customization.
One thing is that the content of the category description is not showing up
and second there are no buttons shortcodes available anymore.
Find attched a screenshot of an older purchase of X and new one.I would like to add a full-width image and text description underneath the archive subtitle.
Thank you

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! Category description supposed to be just plain text so there should not be such editor. Perhaps you were using a plugin like “TinyMCE Editor” which was adding the option there.
Cheers!

ArtOfSpringParticipantHi Rupok,
I’m not using an additional editor. That’s confusing.
On another page built with X where I only used X plugins there is also the option of using shortcodes within category description.November 8, 2016 at 10:11 am #1248847
ChristianModeratorHey there,
Your other X site might have been customized. X din’t have that feature ever since.
Thanks.

ArtOfSpringParticipantHi Christian,
I found the responsible plugin. To my surprise it’s the SEO plugin “Yoast SEO”!
Thank you

Adam BreenParticipantCurious to know how you resolved this. Did you disable Yoast altogether?
Attempting to sort out how to post shortcodes into the category description.February 17, 2017 at 3:30 am #1374744
Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for updating this thread. To be able to add shortcodes and html in the category description, please check out this links:
or you can use a 3rd party plugin such as this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/allow-html-in-category-descriptions/
As this is all custom development, regretfully we won’t be able to assist further. Custom development is outside the scope of our support. We’re happy to provide advice and get you started in the right direction, but you would still be responsible for the implementation.
Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.
