I’m still a bit confused about which plugins will update automatically when I update X and which I have to update manually. I understand that those that are updated along with X I shouldn’t manually update. Just not sure which those are.

Thanks for writing in! I just want to clarify as there has been some misunderstanding in this area. Automatic updates mean you get the notice for an update you use “click” update for the auto update to proceed.
If this is your understanding, this is correct. Some think that auto update means they don’t do anything (not even click update). This is a big no-no as things can go wrong in an update so the user should always have the chance to backup their site before any update is setup.
Now to know which plugins come with X you can check your X download and under the extensions folder are all the plugins. You can also just check your X Addons > Home and all plugins that come with X are listed there.
