I have never been as excited to do a website redesign as I was upon seeing the amazing work accomplished with the X theme.
However, my excitement was dashed when I installed the theme. Immediately after installing and activating, this happened:
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://lorymoore.com/wp-admin/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
I went into cPanel and deleted the install, but no improvement.
Any help is greatly appreciated…I’m ready to get this party started!

After reviewing the information provided above, I would try checking with your hosting provider on this particular issue as it sounds like something related to your setup is causing this. Typically, this is due server configuration problems (i.e. underpowered, traceroute issues, packet loss, permissions errors, et cetera). Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.

Well, it cost me quite a lot of moolah in VA fees, and I lost some work, but I just decided to delete the previous install and reinstall WP. The X Theme has installed now and we shall see how the configuration goes.
I’ve never had a theme break a WP install before. Praying that my bad luck is out of the way on the front end, and anticipating beautiful results as so many have had…
