I have the latest WP/X/Cornerstone installed as of 4/25/16. My website has inconsistent appearance of the navigation bar. The portfolio page has it functioning correctly, but the home, contact, and about pages have it at the top instead of static left, as it should be. I’ve tried changing settings to no avail. It seems like the “navbar-fixed-left” class isn’t being assigned on these pages and I can’t quite figure out why. Thank you!

    Hello There,

Thanks for providing the information. I have checked your customizer and you have set the navbar position as Fixed Left. Please set this to Fixed Top. Saved your changes and after that, since you have installed a caching plugin WordFence, please clear your plugin cache first before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Greetings!

I’ve cleared my browsing cache, deactivated and deleted the plugin that does website caching (temporarily, just for problem-solving) and unfortunately the behavior is the same. I actually do want the navigation fixed-left, so I set it accordingly. I cleared everything and logged out of my wordpress and the website is still unfortunately only affixing left on the portfolio page. I’m baffled. Credentials remain the same.

    Hi,

May I know what cache plugin did you use.

Please note that before deactivating and deleting the plugin, you need to delete your plugin cache first.

If not, the plugin is deleted but the cache will still be there.

    Hello,

I was using WordFence. Before I deleted it I went to Wordfence’s performance settings, manually deleted the cache, then deleted the plugin. I understand that the plugin cache had to go, and made sure it was gone before I got rid of it.

I’ve been inspecting the navigation element on the pages and it seems like the class “x-navbar-fixed-left” is only assigned on the portfolio page. When I inspect the navigation element on any other page, it only has the class “x-navbar” with no additional positioning classes getting assigned to the navigation. According to the inspector, it’s not a case of classic css overwrite— the “x-navbar-fixled-left” isn’t even attached to the element. Thanks.

Screenshot of how it's displaying with code inspection.

    Hi there,

You’ve enabled ‘one page navigation’ for home page that’s why it always stays fixed top, please disable ‘one page navigation’ menu from cornerstone settings tab/x settings.

    Hope it helps.
