I have tried the following shortcodes but the image is just displayed on a new page in the current window.
[image src="" link="true"][lightbox]
June 13, 2014 at 4:46 pm #56054I hope this doesn’t delay my response. I’ve tried even more things. Watched the videos a few times over and still can’t get it to work.
I set up a new post and tried it as shown in the video it worked fine. So I switched the editor over to classic mode to see the code.
This is the code I got:
[lightbox selector=”.x-img-link” opacity=”0.875″ prev_scale=”0.75″ prev_opacity=”0.75″ next_scale=”0.75″ next_opacity=”0.75″ orientation=”horizontal”][image type=”none” float=”none” link=”true” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” src=”569″ alt=”BBBB”]
so I copied it directly to the section I’m trying to get to work and it doesn’t. It still opens the image in a new page by itself in the current window.
I then tried adding the responsive lightbox in the visual editor and just adding the following code:
[image type=”none” float=”none” link=”true” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” src=”569″ alt=”BBBB”]
But it didn’t work.
The reason I need the code is because the images is contained in a tab and that’s the only way to add it that I can see. I’ve also tried several other things.. Like deactivating plugins.. different types of alien code.. you know.. the works..
This is killing me because I’m trying to modify post that already exist and are live on my website. Everything else is working beautifully.. except the content looks crazy =p..
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. I hope this information helped describe my problem better.

June 13, 2014 at 5:59 pm #56088You can mark this as solved or close it.
The problem?
It doesn’t work in preview mode only in live mode
the code really is as simple as:
[image src=”direct link or the number e.g.559″ link=”true”][lightbox] bam done.
Don’t expect to preview it though.
Now to see if I can’t get a simple “close” button on it.. Wish me luck and my 3 hours of sleep!
June 14, 2014 at 10:41 pm #56445Great to hear that Chris! Good job!
Just a heads up, bumping up your thread will place your thread position to new queue. We reply from old thread to newer. Good luck 🙂
July 11, 2014 at 9:29 am #67494Chris, can you help me out here?
I copied and pasted just like you said:
[image src=”http://storage-depot.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/5×5.gif” link=”true”][lightbox] and I’m getting nothing.
the video here http://theme.co/x/member/kb/shortcode-walkthrough-lightbox/ is a bit perplexing. I don’t quite understand what I’m missing.July 12, 2014 at 9:48 pm #67892Hey Brad,
Upon checking, I see the you have a problem with your CDN (see http://prntscr.com/424v4s). Please contact your web host about this.
Thanks.
July 12, 2014 at 11:02 pm #67916Mikko Mendoza: how can I help you?
→Mikko, the support forum of my wordpress theme gave me this: http://prntscr.com/424v4s as a reply to my support request
Mikko Mendoza: that is a ccdn file
Mikko Mendoza: CDN file js file particularly
Mikko Mendoza: Is there any problem on that file?
→this might sound crazy, but login and look at my request http://theme.co/x/member/login/ [****DELETE****] http://theme.co/x/member/forums/topic/i-need-two-elements-in-a-light-box/ and http://theme.co/x/member/forums/topic/lightbox-button-raw-js/
→I’m not sure if there’s a problem…. on “ANY” file? I paid w3 total cache $200 to do all this correctly. So, I don’t actually know which files are doing what anymore.
→From what it looks like the one support thread is attempting to indicate, does having the word ‘storagedepot’ in there twice “break” something?
Mikko Mendoza: storagepot.storagepot.netdna-cdn.com is a correct CDN URL. I think theres no problem with that.
→ok, sooooo……. Now what?
Mikko Mendoza: Ive check also the CDN files and it seems all files are ok and cached by our CDN.
→Well, thanks for looking and double checking! If you’re trying to say that having the word storagedepot in the url twice is causing the lightbox to not work, according to the support staff from MaxCDN, that’s not the problem.
Next suggestion? Given my login credentials, are you able to put the correct information into a lightbox on the site and see what happens?
July 12, 2014 at 11:24 pm #67922Upon further thought…..
Ok, so since I’ve shared the login creds, let’s go ahead and login to the site, turn OFF any and all caching, and put the correct code in there on the /test page, and then the lightbox will work correctly, right?
July 13, 2014 at 3:51 pm #68051OK…. CDN is off. All Caches Cleared. W3TC deactivated. Lightboxes are not working. And Monday is still coming. Any other thoughts?
July 13, 2014 at 4:42 pm #68068I’m still not too confident that I have the correct class in the correct spot in the first place. I get that there are a lot of moving parts here, but I’m not sure why we can’t support the base, and fundamental concern here. Is the lightbox for an image set up correctly. CDN aside. The CDN is secondary, tertiary, or fourth down the list. Is the code in the theme is where we need to start. And that’s the part that we need to look at first.
July 14, 2014 at 12:02 am #68202Hey Brad,
Please ensure you have the latest version of X and the plugins. After that, please give us WordPress admin access so we could check in the back-end.
Thanks.
July 14, 2014 at 7:44 am #68321This reply has been marked as private.July 14, 2014 at 12:35 pm #68444ok, so the problem with the lightbox not responding lies somewhere in w3 total cache, minify and one of the js files that make the lightbox functionality happen.
I’ve tried to exclude the file of /wp-content/plugins/x-shortcodes/js/dist/site/vendor-ilightbox.min.js in the backend of w3tc. On this page, http://storage-depot.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=w3tc_minify scroll down to the area labelled ‘Advanced’ and you’ll see where I’ve excluded the ‘ilightbox’ file. Unfortunately, that didn’t fix the problem. I went back into w3tc, and ‘enabled’ minify cache with that specific file excluded. When I turn minify on, the lightbox breaks. When I leave minify off, the lightbox works. Now, I know I make mistakes and I’m not perfect, so feel free to correct my thinking here: This means that we need to find the specific js file that is breaking/ enabling the lightbox, and exclude the file from within w3tc, correct? So, other than the ilightbox file, which other one should I check?
July 15, 2014 at 11:32 am #68860Hi Brad,
Include full URL in Never minify the following JS files: textbox. I’ve corrected it, please check the effects now by activating Minify.
July 15, 2014 at 12:20 pm #68888Nicely done! Awesome! http://storage-depot.com/raw-js-lightbox/
Um… now can I get some love over here with the js/ text file thingy-majig?
