​Yes, I was extremely happy to purchase the X theme with all the included plugins, which included slider revolution. I have spent literally 9 hours, looking at videos, forums, FAQS, etc, to no avail, to register the purchase code.It keeps telling me that “invalid purchase code”. Yet, there is also in small print that I can still use the plugin with no problem, I won’t have access to the updates, but even I don’t have access to anything at all. I am so bummed out, and my head is spinning. Please help me as I have a valid purchase code, of which is promised that the slider revolution would work, once the purchase code is authenticated, of which I am having a very hard time, trying to figure out what else to do? HELP!

Thanks for writing in and sorry that you are having such a bad experience getting started with X. We have had some similar cases recently about validation and it is currently under investigation by our dev team. In the meantime, we’d like to go ahead and check your setup. Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

Also to give you some info regarding all the included plugins and slider rev, validation enables automatic updates, meaning you can do one click updates instead of manually updating. Please note that the bundled revolution slider is slightly modified to work with X’s shortcodes. Some users have reported seeing a request to validate with the purchase key. This isn’t necessary as the slider is fully functional. The only difference between our bundled version is that you don’t get some automation features and premium support from ThemePunch.
(Note: not all users get this notice).

Also all extensions/plugins come with your download in the extensions folder, you can use the plugin installer to upload those or you can extract them and transfer the files directly into the plugins folder via FTP.

These are also options that you have, but it would be good if we can see what’s going on so that we can ensure X will work the way it should. Again, we apologize for your experience and we await your details so we can resolve this issue.

I have replied and given my credentials, do I have to be logged out, whilst you guys are logged into my site ?

Hi there,

Thanks for updating the thread! No you don’t need to be logged out. We were able to check you site and your copy of X is validated. It seems that the main issue is with Rev Slider. Without a license key directly from them you can’t get premium support, live updates and free premium sliders.

Since our integration involves a modified version of Rev Slider, all questions regarding issues with rev slider integration will be handled by us. This means if the plugin isn’t working in some way. Also note that though we update regularly, there will be times where we won’t be able to have an update as soon as rev slider unmodified version updates.

When it comes to how to use the plugin with the theme, we can assist you, like how to make the hero sliders that are found on our demos. Creating basic sliders are pretty straight forward and there are a ton of resources online.

However if you wan’t premium support, then you will need to purchase a copy from ThemePunch directly. Then you will have a valid license key for you to use with their services. Some users opt for this is they really need premium support.

If you are looking for sliders, you can’t access the premium ones but you can still access all the rest. If that isn’t working from within the theme you can download and import them manually from the Free Slider Exchange link: https://revolution.themepunch.com/free-slider-exchange/

So to clarify, you can use the slider functions (creating sliders) without restriction but won’t get the live updates (not needed as we update our integrated version separately), Premium sliders (You can still get sliders manually), and ticket support. Support is a service and paying for a license to get support is something that is worth it if you need that help. Most users know how to use the slider without much help as they have been using it for a while on X or other themes.

Thanks John for your prompt reply! I think I am understanding you clear now. I do understand the difference of the modified version that COMES with X theme, and the paid premium one, for updates, premiums ct. However, the strange thing is, when I went to just use the Slider Revolution, meaning I downloaded it, and activated it, then went to use it, it asked for validation just to USE it!

Not sure what I am missing here. In any case, All I want to do, is have a video in the top of my home page header, such as the Integrity1 demo. So my question is, is there any other way to get video in like that without using the Slider Revolution? (I may just purchase, to save headaches, although that seems rather unfair) Also, to start building my site, somewhat similar to the Integrity1 demo(with the surf boarding guy video) where do I start? Do I start in pages with cornerstone? Or do I start in customization? So sorry, I am new to making my own business website, but I AM determined, and I still love X!

The Revolution Slider in the Integrity 1 demo is a video background slider. You can refer to the documentation here for more information regarding its setup.

You can also check this page for a guide on how to use the Rev Slider.
