Hi,
I’m currently working on a site: http://www.holbrookholdings.com
I am having formatting issues on IE (specifically the header’s logo). After some research, I came across this article:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/internet-explorer-issues-9
And entered the following code into my admin-header.php, on line 1:
<meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=EmulateIE8″>
This has not worked. Did I enter the code in wrong? Is there another solution to this issue?
June 26, 2016 at 10:25 am #1060158Hey there,
On April 8, 2014 Microsoft officially stopped supporting Windows XP. At this point, we’ve dropped support for IE8 in X theme. This helps us stay up to date with the latest standards in web technology.
The oldest IE we support is version 9, this version and newer are available in Microsoft’s currently supported Operating Systems (Vista, 7, 8)
Continued use of XP after April 8, 2014 is an active security risk. We recommend you look into upgrading any XP machines you administrate, and advise your clients to upgrade. Microsoft explains this in detail here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/enterprise/end-of-support.aspx
We’re sorry we can’t support IE8, but we’re certainly committed to making X the best it can be in today’s supported browsers and devices!
I viewed your site on IE 9 and didn’t experience any issue.
Thanks for understanding. Take care!
June 26, 2016 at 12:20 pm #1060235Hi,
I just viewed the site on IE11 and the header is completely messed up. The alignment for the logo and the header links is off, and the header logo is pixelated/not clean at all.
Am I missing something?
June 26, 2016 at 5:23 pm #1060457Hi there,
I checked on IE11 and it looks okay, except the pixelated logo.
Your logo is too big //www.holbrookholdings.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/HolbrookHoldingsLogoHorizontal_RGB.jpg ( 2606×729 ).
And images that are scaled down from that big size to thumbnail size will really look pixelated on IE. It’s browser limitation, how about making it small if you wish to optimize it on IE?
And please provide screenshots of the other issues you’re getting.
Thanks!
