Just a few things I have noticed since updating – when using IE11, I cannot get the cornerstone drag and drop functionality to work when trying to add elements to a column (no problems when using Chrome though). I have also noticed that the flip cards do not work as expected on my site when viewing in IE11 – see here http://staging.af-affinity.co.uk/fuel/

WP / theme / plugins all up to date.

    Hey there,

Thanks for providing this! We are currently looking into some of the drag and drop issues mentioned for Internet Explorer. With Cornerstone, we have worked very hard to keep things as “native” as possible using things like HTML5 drag and drop along with other web technologies. However, moving forward it looks as though we may need to investigate some fallback functionality for browsers that do not implement this as cleanly as others (i.e. Internet Explorer). For the time being, you can utilize Chrome as you’ve mentioned to build out your pages and know that this is something we’re looking into to remedy as quickly as possible.

Regarding the Card element, similarly, Internet Explorer 9/10/11 do not support native CSS3 3D transforms, which is what we are using to animate the card element. These native CSS3 animations are much smoother than trying to do anything programmatically with JavaScript for example, which is why we have opted to use them. In IE 9, 10, and 11 the card will fallback to simply switching out the two sides as you hover (so essentially you won’t see the animation). These 3D transforms are supported in Microsoft’s soon to be released Edge browser, and based on the general numbers behind Internet Explorer and how fast people are moving up recently, we’ve opted to utilize this as a graceful degredation for browsers that don’t support these 3D transforms in favor of the larger majority where it does work and knowing that very soon Microsoft will have finally released a browser that utilizes these technologies which have been supported in others for years now.

Hopefully this helps to clarify things! Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I understand the logic, but when I hover over a card in IE11, it just shows the front of the card upside down, not the back of the card with the call to action.

Unfortunately a lot of the visitors to my site use IE, so I won’t be able to use this feature on my site.

    Hey there,

Thanks for sharing this! It definitely should not be upside down like that. In our original iteration this didn’t happen but I believe we made some minor changes before release, which clearly affected the flip output, so we will work to look into this as soon as possible, hopefully the coming release.

    Thanks again!

Fully up to date. Only happens on a system running Windows 10. Maybe Microsoft changed something in their version of IE11 on Windows 10?

    Hey there,

Yes. This doesn’t work on Windows 10 and IE 11. I’ve forwarded this to our development team.

For the drag and drop feature of Cornerstone, it is still not supported in all IE versions.

    Thanks.

Wondering if there has been any progress on this issue? As I am going through testing for the card element I have found it works as expected on Windows using Edge only. All other versions of IE on any windows OS has various issues of not displaying properly.

    Thanks.
