Hello dear staff, I’d like to make a suggestion:
I would LOVE LOVE it if you guys would add an option to redirect pages. Right now there’s only the 404 redirect page. But I’d love to create my own “easy” or “simple” links that would redirect to more complex links.
So for example;
instead of http://www.website.com/product/productname I’d like to be able to send customers to a simple website name like http://www.website.com/lovelyday and then have them redirected to http://www.website.com/product/productname. Right now I’m trying to find a plugin for this.
Thanks heaps!
April 27, 2016 at 4:04 am #901711Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this.
However you may try .htaccess redirect method or try using a redirect plugin. You may want to check the following resource to begin with (http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-to-creating-redirects-in-wordpress/).
Thanks!

UPDATE
the page recommends using the plugin “Redirect”; I was using this plugin , but it did not appear in my WP menu so I couldnt configure it. Reading the 3 reviews on the details page, all users had issues with this plugin.
I took another one of the page its suggestions: 301 redirect and it seems to work easy and fine
