    Hi there,

My website seems to work fine on mobile & tablets but, when you add a product to cart, the cart (on mobile) drops to the bottom of the site but you don’t realise this unless you scroll all the way to the bottom of the site.

    My website is: http://www.discountsatnavs.co.uk

    A few things:

    1) I am using Icon

    2) I used a pre-made “sales template” that comes with X/Icon

    3) I have “fixed” my sidebar (right side on desktop) so that my cart is always there on the right no matter how far you scroll down. Again, this only shows on desktop but on mobile, you obviously don’t see a sidebar. I am using a sidebar widget for this.

    4) I’m not using WooCommerce, rather the WP eStore plugin by tipsandtricks-hq.com so it’s a paypal shopping cart plugin.

    5) This is probably just dreaming but it would be great if the sidebar could have a floating tab (or something) that could be present as someone scrolls up/down on mobile. Too custom?

    6) I haven’t updated to the latest version of wordrpess yet, was going to do that later today or this week.

    Current version is 4.6.1

I’m thinking, while it may not look great, to have the cart show at the top of my website (below the menu) so when someone Adds to Cart, the user doesn’t think “hey, where is the checkout?” as scrolling to the very bottom of the site probably isn’t intuitive. (just guessing)

Any tips/suggestions for this? I assume it would be somehow telling X that in mobile-mode, the sidebar/cart shouldn’t appear at the bottom but not sure if that’s a bid coding issue or a simple solution.

    Many thanks for any help

    Hey there,

What you can do without custom development is

    1. Create a Section that is only visible on mobile using the Hide Based on Screen Width option available for Section, Row and Gap element.

    2. Add a Widget Area element to the section (see attachment)

Other methods would require custom development which falls outside the scope of our support.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Christian. I really appreciate it.

I’ll give that a try and see how it goes.

    Thanks again

    Hi there,

Sorry to bring up my old thread. I just wanted to say your solution worked but, now I’m wondering something.

Is it possible to have my widget with my “hide by screensize” NOT appear until something actually happens?

    For example…

Right now, when I view my homepage in a mobile sized browser (tablet or mobile) I can see my “shopping cart” at the top of my page, where I put it using your suggestion above. However, I was wondering if that shopping cart could be “hidden” until someone actually adds a product to cart, THEN have the cart appear at the top?

    Does that make sense?

    Many thanks

    Scott

    Hi Scott,

Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!
