Hi,
If you have problem with automatic upgrade look at my solution how to manually (via FTP) update to 4.2.2

1. download latest version of theme
2. unzip the package e.g. on Desktop
3. go to Desktop/x/framework
4. copy folder plugins to another place e.g. Desktop
5. go to new place and unzip this three packages: cornerstone.zip, js_composer.zip, revslider.zip
6. send via FTP:
6.1 folder Desktop/x to /wp-content/themes
6.2 folder Desktop/plugins/js_composer to /wp-content/plugins
6.3 folder Desktop/plugins/revslider to /wp-content/plugins
7. login to domain.com/wp-admin
8. if you see X Theme version is 4.2.2 and only cornerstone needs update:
8.1. remove folder /wp-content/plugins/cornerstone on your server
8.2 send via FTP Desktop/plugins/cornerstone to /wp-content/plugins
9. if you have any problem how look you website Edit Page and save it again

I tested it few times on my client websites and it works 100% 🙂
