Recently my uncategorized page has been coming up in searches on google and I can’t figure out how to delete or change this. I have been on both the wordpress site, here and google to attempt to find a solution. This is only happening recently, since the last set of updates, I dont’ know if it’s related at all. Please help me to get rid of this page as it’s confusing for people who want to view my webpage for services.

Upon checking, it seems you have some posts under that category, I’d advise first excluding all of the posts from it and then review this thread: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/remove-uncategorized-from-google-search-result-header

I don’t know how to exclude posts but I’ll will try to work it out. I also did not post anything or create these. It appears to be something in the theme itself, a default post.

I’ve deleted the posts, one which was the xtheme template coming up in the search. How long will it be before google stops showing this in the search, as it still does but just says the page is no longer there? Or do I need to do something else?

This is probably because google has not updated the newest version of your site yet, you need to wait a couple of days or weeks till it updates .

Hi,

You can also try using the Yoast SEO plugin to no-index/no-follow posts or categories.

https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/

Note that it requires study to understand the implications though.

You can also use Googe Webmaster Tools to remove items from the Google Index (also requires study to understand).
