Hi,
I’m trying to add a slider to a portfolio page, like it is here: http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/portfolio-item/black-and-white/Although I’d like the images to be smaller. How do I add this slider?
Thanks
RenaI’ve got the latest version of WP, your theme, and plugin

November 9, 2015 at 10:49 am #658303Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! I am not sure why you are not sure how you have added this. You can check the content on your editor and see that.
However you can insert shortcodes to your portfolio items – http://prntscr.com/90ugpb
You can just enter slider shortcode from Media – http://prntscr.com/90uhbz
Hope this makes sense.
Cheers!
November 9, 2015 at 11:23 am #658353Hi,
Thanks for assistance on this. I wish cornerstone was available in the portfolios area. That would make this so much easier. My coworker actually did it and she has no idea about how to use the Xtheme. I know she didn’t add a shortcode bc she doesn’t know what they are. She said she just added Media and it worked. But it’s not working for me. This is what the text says:no slider shortcode, yet it shows a slider here: http://fatcatpaperie.com/portfolio-item/aster-by-smock/?preview=true&preview_id=6657&preview_nonce=9f215411f5

November 9, 2015 at 1:19 pm #658501This reply has been marked as private.November 9, 2015 at 2:52 pm #658628Also, I’m using the same method as I said but different outcomes.
This portfolio has a slider: http://fatcatpaperie.com/?post_type=x-portfolio&p=6846&preview=true
This one does not and it has a empty box on top as well: http://fatcatpaperie.com/portfolio-item/vineyard-elegance/?preview=true&preview_id=6864&preview_nonce=f62ba4565a
I cannot figure out whats causing the different outcome.

November 9, 2015 at 5:49 pm #658804Hello Rena,
Please note that you can use Cornerstone on Portfolio. Go to Settings > Cornerstone > Allowed Post Types: Click check box for x-portfolio > Click Update button and it will enable Cornerstone editor on your portfolio item.
This one:http://fatcatpaperie.com/?post_type=x-portfolio&p=6846&preview=true has slider because you have choose media gallery under Portfolio Item Settings > Media Type > Gallery. Choosing Gallery means that it will make a gallery of photos you have added on that specific portfolio item. Then on the content area, you have added those images too. That’s why you have a gallery of images on top and then row of images below it.
Hope this helps.
November 10, 2015 at 9:05 am #659652Thats a game changer! Im happy I can use it in the portfolios.
I understand that when I use Media Type- Gallery a gallery should happen. The thing is I have this chosen on every single portfolio but it only works half the time. And I cannot figure out why. Theres no rhyme or reason. It worked on the link you sent above but here it does not: http://fatcatpaperie.com/portfolio-item/vineyard-elegance/?preview=true&preview_id=6864&preview_nonce=0e20b62c7bAnd I did the same thing.
You say I have the images input in the gallery and in the content area. But all I am doing is chosing Gallery and then going to Add media and adding the images. And setting a featured image. From that comes a slider and then all the photos listed again below it.
And sometiems from that comes no slider. There is no consitency to how it works. If you can tell me why the inconsistent results that would be great. If not and theres a way I can disable the images on that page completely. I just need the featured image on the gallery page and then Ill go into cornerstone and add a slider that way.
Thanks again for the help
RenaNovember 10, 2015 at 11:13 am #659822Hi Rena,
Thanks for writing in!
Our portfolio gallery works in the same way how WordPress gallery [Gallery] works, i.e., you need to attach the images to the post/portfolio item you are working on and the images will automatically appear in the gallery slider. That means, you need to upload new images instead of selecting existing ones to their respective portfolio item. If you upload images to one portfolio item and select them in another, it won’t work. This process is also defined in WordPress codex: https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Image_and_File_Attachments
If you want to remove a image from the gallery slider, you’ll need to delete the image from the media library.
Thank you.
November 10, 2015 at 12:26 pm #659931Ohhh. I see! Thats quite simple and something I’d never think of. So now the slider images are a bit blurry and the ones that I upload into the content area are not. They are all around 600px wide. Can I decrease the size of the sliding images? They are almost full width. If it’s a little smaller will it take care of the blurriness?
Thanks,
RenaNovember 10, 2015 at 3:30 pm #660180Hello Rena,
Please note that the slider width is automatically computed depending on the placeholder or container. Then those images will be display 100% of the slider. Please refer to this:http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/shortcodes/responsive-slider/. Try to use at least 700px image. If the container of your image slider is larger, it would totally stretch.
Hope this helps.
