First I’d like to congratulate you and to thank you for the amazing job you did with the X theme and Cornerstone. I am not a web designer, I don’t know anything to CSS, html, etc. and it’s very simple to use for most of its features. Two thumbs up 🙂 You saved me a lot of time and X is really worth buying.

I have 2 questions :

1) I would like to add a video at the top of my website and have the same effect as in integrity –>

I’ve uploaded a video in .mp4 format to Cornerstone (along with a poster image in png format) as a background image to a section, and the section is blank. The following message appears on the website » hide_controls= »false » autoplay= »false » no_container= »false » preload= »none » advanced_controls= »false » muted= »false » loop= »true » poster= »http://www.coursanglaisnantes.fr/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/New-York-City-7260.mp4″]

I’ve tried to upload the files to the Media Library and also via FTP and nothing seems to work.

2) I don’t understand how to customize the menu of the button in the upper right corner. I found that it’s possible the change the color of the Widgetbar Button Background but how can I add content or how can I hide the button if I decide not to use it please?

Thank you for the credentials. #1 You got it wrong, you did put the video as a shortcode

When you’re building the page in Cornerstone, you don’t use the shortcode (maybe in some cases you do). You just need to put the direct video URL:

http://www.coursanglaisnantes.fr/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/New-York-City-7260.mp4

On the source field and the poster image just below that.

Actually you need to clarify this, because you said on the thread title how to add a self hosted video background, but you added the video as a Video Player element.

#2 That button is the Header Widget Areas toggle. If you need to disable that, please navigate to Appearance > Customize (Personnaliser), on Customizer under the Header panel, look for the Header Widget Areas and set it to none.

To add content on the Header Widget Areas, please navigate to Appearance > Widgets. There you will see the Header 1 – Header 4 sidebars (depends on how many header areas you set) for you to place a widgets, you can drag widgets from the left to place it on your header areas.

#1 I’m sorry that my explanation was not clear. I’m not a technician, just a mere French teacher who’s trying hard to understand how to build her website 😉

I tried previously to write “http://www.coursanglaisnantes.fr/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/New-York-City-7260.mp4” in the field you mentioned, but it didn’t work. I couldn’t see the video.

I added a Video Player element because I didn’t know how to have a video in the background of my website. But indeed I do want to have a video in the background of my website. I would like it to be full screen, I mean not to show any margin on the left and on the right. I hope I make myself understood. I don’t know the technical terms for this.

#3 I have another question: how can I do to set up the same height for the 6 pink cards please?

Hi there,

1. I checked and the video works, it just won’t play right away since video is still downloading. If you wish to play it while loading then your server should have video streaming support, or use video hosting services to host your video and just copy the video URL.

To make it full-width, inspect the row where your video is. Section has row, and row has column, it’s 3 level structure. Then on your row, toggle off the column container and it will be full-width.

3. Please add this CSS to Admin > Appearance > Customizer > Custom > CSS
