I’ve wached enough of the Cornerstone video to decide that it’s possibly useful & something to get. I have an X account and have upgraded my X theme to v 4.0.6. Under the Admin Panel> Settings there is no Cornerstone option. I’ve looked for it on Google and the only options I can find are to buy another X theme license. This would be great but I really only have the 1 website so at present don’t really need more X licenses.
Searching the FAQ’s for at least an hour have brought up no info on how to install Cornerstone. Is it installed with the latest X theme (4.0.6) or do I need to buy a separate Cornerstone license? If it comes with my X-theme how do I activate it?
August 6, 2015 at 10:23 pm #352507Hello There,
Thank for writing in!
No, as of today Cornerstone is not available as a standalone plugin. It comes bundled with X theme 4.0 onwards.
To investigate further would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.
Thanks.

Upon checking, I can see you have not yet updated your theme to latest version.

Please follow the steps on the link below on how to update your theme and plugins

With regards to your ftp, I would try checking with your hosting provider on this particular issue as it sounds like something related to your setup is causing this. Typically, this is due server configuration problems (i.e. underpowered, traceroute issues, packet loss, permissions errors, et cetera). Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.
Thanks

To install Cornerstone, go to Addons > Extensions. For other extensions, you will need to validate X. See https://community.theme.co//kb/product-validation/ for instructions.
Hope that helps. 🙂
August 11, 2015 at 11:22 am #356133Thanks I found all the codes & everything. I used the API key to install Cornerstone. Unfortunately I got the famous blank screen. I commented about this on another forum post on this subject.
I have not found a means to correct except sending my webhosting co. some info about:
to install PHP multibyte extension ‘mbstring’ as mentioned above
This seems too little information for my hosting Co., is there more available?
August 11, 2015 at 11:33 am #356141Hi there,
It seems that you will have to install PHP multibyte extension ‘mbstring’ (http://php.net/manual/en/mbstring.installation.php).
Please contact your web hosting provider with this request.
Thanks!
August 11, 2015 at 1:36 pm #356246Hi, I’ve been told that mbstring is already installed. Also I do not know how to “use the PHP” command as mentioned below. My website is completely blank with no text anywhere. I have edited my wp-config.php to use the DeBug mode as described:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */however no changes result -still a blank screen.

Hello,
I believe mbstring is installed on your server already — this is a standard part of our PHP install.
E.g. use the PHP command on any page<? phpinfo(); ?>
To show details of everything installed.
August 11, 2015 at 4:49 pm #356380Hi There,
Can you confirm that the X|shortcode plugin is completely deleted on \wp-content\plugins directory? I’ve try to check this myself, although the FTP provided above connects, but the folder on it is empty.
Thanks!

Thanks for the FTP credentials. I have login to your hosting and navigate to your folder plugin directory. Then I deleted the X-shortcode plugin folder. The website is now up. I am also able to access your admin. Please check.
August 14, 2015 at 9:30 am #359215Thanks very much. I’ve noticed the Cornerstone under settings, thus I guess that Cornerstone is now installed. I only have to figure out how to use it. I’ve seen some of the introductory video but now that I have it installed I’ll watch it to completion.
Later today I’ll change my site & FTP settings back to the more complex pwds.
August 14, 2015 at 11:43 am #359274Hi there,
Now when you Create/ Edit a page, you will see a separate tab to load Cornerstone (see: http://screencast.com/t/sB7HCyPSxJ). You can go through our knowledge base section to find tutorials/ walkthroughs about Cornerstone (https://community.theme.co//kb/).
Thanks!
