Yes, you could just use no header widget areas. That CSS could help if you just wanted to remove the triangle but keep the icon.

Can you see the + sign in the upper right corner? all widget are removed already

The triangle opens a widget area for the header. You can change these settings in the customizer. If you want to remove the full functionality of the widget area turn it off under Header -> Widgetbar

If you want the functionality and want to remove the plus or change the look of it then follow instructions that were given above.

If you want widgets enable it and go to the last option in the customizer, Widgets and then Header 1 and add widgets here.
