How do i get my license to validate on local host xampp. My local test site does not have an .com or .co.uk domain on the end and when i try to generate key it tells me site url not valid.
April 2, 2016 at 12:08 pm #863917OK, got it to work, however, before you was able to generate an api key for a local host which did not end with a TLD suffix ie http://localhost
But now you have to create a local (in xampp for instance) ending with a TLD suffix ie http://localhost.com, then the api key works.
However when i say api, really now its just the Envato purchase code, but you still have to add the site url for the purchase code to work.
Its a bit annoying as i already have a test site locally without the TLD suffix which is quite far a head in its development which i will no longer be able to use as i can not get the updates for x or its plugins.
April 3, 2016 at 12:27 am #864337Hello There,
Thanks for the feedback. You have to insert a domain name so that the license will be assign to it. Please be advise that we strictly follow the one license per domain policy. This is why each license have to be assigned to a domain and that information is stored in your accountaccount. When you check it in your WP dashboard, X Addons > Home, it will connect to our server and check the license to make sure that it is valid.
To make sure that you can always assign a domain even if you are using localhost, you need to create a virtual hostname. Please follow this link to know how:
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/smb-technologist/create-virtual-hosts-in-a-wamp-server/For my personal and local test servers, I used VirtualHost X which you can easily create and manage Apache virtual hosts with just a few clicks.
Hope this helps.
