Hi,
I have a question how in the world do I get a video as a Slider?
For Example like this website has ( http://chickart.de/ )
I cant figure it out! lol
All I see is black that’s it..I read the http://themepunch.com/codecanyon/revolution_wp/documentation/#!/documenter_cover
I watched the slider video http://theme.co/x/member/video-tutorials/customizer/
Still can’t figure it out.and when you say use a link for the video from sites like Vimeo Pro($199) a little much.
Do you know another site that can do it to?Please help! thanks by the way X is amazing… still getting use to put it’s so cool…
February 13, 2014 at 5:02 am #14019Hey Marco,
Thanks for writing in and your kind words.
You need to setup a slide first and add a video layer. You set up video size as full width and set up the rest according to your needs.
The video at http://chickart.de/ is self hosted. Meaning he used HTML5 setting.
You can use Youtube or Vimeo Free.
Hope that helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. 🙂

Thanks for writing in and we’re sorry for any confusion on this. There are two things you need to understand about the Revolution Slider plugin and video functionality:
- There is the native slider functionality where you can add video layers. This is to add video that you can interact with (i.e. play, pause, et cetera), and it supports third party services like YouTube and Vimeo as well as self-hosted video.
- The background video feature is something we added ourselves to be used in conjunction with the slider. The URL entered into this field must be a direct link to an .mp4 file either hosted with a service like Vimeo Pro or on your own server. This effect is meant to be decorative and not interactive.
If you have having trouble with your video showing up on your site from a third party service using a video layer in the plugin itself, it is likely an error with the service or that the video isn’t setup to be shared on other sites. If you’re unfamiliar with Revolution Slider, I recommend you take some time to read through their online documentation to help get you up to speed on everything.
Hopefully this clears things up for you, thanks!

http://cycle4opportunity.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/vimeoUntitled.pngand enter it here?
http://cycle4opportunity.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/help.pngcan you show me a screen shot on the setting needed etc… thanks…
February 14, 2014 at 2:01 am #14297Sorry for not replying on your mail that fast!
The support ist right, I use a self-hosted video. But instead of using the “Optional Video Background” Option, I use the video-function of the Slider Revolution, because of it’s flexibility in the settings etc.
I highly recommend to have a look on the Revolution Slider – it’s quite cool!

February 14, 2014 at 3:46 am #14311Hey Marc,
did you use the direct video link with the file extension on the end? Don’t use the normal vimeo player link. There is an option for vimeo pro for outside embedding.
February 14, 2014 at 4:06 am #14318yes I think I figured those parts out.

February 14, 2014 at 5:29 am #14324Hey Marco,
a bit further down of your screenshot you see a grid box it’s like 9 little squares did you select the upper left one so you can assign left 0 and top 0 values? That should put it absolute left top.
February 15, 2014 at 2:02 am #14570thanks I figured it out you guys are great.
I had to change the grid size in slider settingsFebruary 15, 2014 at 2:37 am #14576You’re welcome!
