    I know how to do this; I have them made. I don’t see where it says to implement one of these sidebars on the 404 page.

    I tried using the custom 404 extension, but the search bar via the VC does not work. So I have since disabled it.

    Here are screenshots of what it is doing and supposed to do.

    Hi There,

    I’m not entirely certain what do you mean “the search bar via the VC does not work”. You can utilize the custom 404 extension create a static page as your 404 page, and then use a Layout – Content left, sidebar right template for that page to have a sidebar. You can also utilize the Widget Area element to place a sidebar on your page content.
