    I write a weekly blog for my employer and I have set up an RSS feed from the blog on my employer’s website to display on my portfolio website. The RSS feed is working but I can’t get it to display the featured images from the articles with the posts. I’ve tried plugins, none have worked. I’ve tried adding various lines of code to the PHP that supposedly are meant to include featured images in the RSS feed, they have caused my site to crash or they did not work. I also installed a child theme and tried to add the code that way, again either my site crashed or nothing happened. Can somebody please tell me what I need to do to get the RSS feed to display the featured images from the articles with the posts? I am using the X theme and I have the child theme installed. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

    Thanks for writing in.

    Unfortunately, this is not an option available with Theme X, you could use a plugin to do that such as: http://wordpress.org/plugins/add-featured-image-to-rss-feed/ or http://wordpress.org/plugins/featured-images-for-rss-feeds/

    As I mentioned in my post I have tried plugins already. That was the first thing I tried to do. In fact, I’ve tried both of those plugins you listed. Neither of them work. There is no way that this is impossible to do. Can you please tell me why I can’t get this to work?     Unfortunately we can’t recommend any third party plugins but you can try some more and see if any of them works.

    So you are telling me that there is no certified way to get featured images in an RSS feed on the X theme?
