I’ve been trying to add X Addons and I keep getting the following Message: Your WordPress file permissions do not allow plugins to be installed.
I searched thru the forum and found that it appears that file and/or folder permissions might not be set correctly. This is beyond my expertise so I contacted the host support team. They are also stumped. They said that they’ve disable plugins and changed plugin directory to 777 but nothing seemed to work. So, they suggested that I contact you. I’d be happy to send you admin sign on and password but I can’t figure out how to mark this as private.

Please try resetting your WordPress files and folders permissions. The correct settings can be found at http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/08/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/.
After resetting folders and files permissions, please keep all third party plugins disabled and try to install X addons plugins.
Let us know how it goes.
April 3, 2016 at 6:10 pm #865101just to confirm…
if Envira Gallery was installed BUT not via the “Add Ons” menu through Xtheme, THAT is not the same
as using the version of Envira for cornerstone, right?I’m assuming that the version to use WITH Cornerstone, needs to be the version of Envira installed
via the Add Ons page?thanks
April 4, 2016 at 1:25 am #865463Hi there,
Current version of X supports Envira gallery v1.4.1.3. Yes, you need to install this plugin from Addons page.
Hope it helps.
April 4, 2016 at 8:33 am #865898hello…
my hosting support found/said this:
The theme that you are using needs to be updated by the developer for compatibility with the latest version of WordPress. Below is the error message.
Notice: The called constructor method for WP_Widget is deprecated since version 4.3.0! Use
__construct()
instead. in /var/www/vhosts/domainname/httpdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3624
{“success”:false,”data”:{“message”:”Your WordPress file permissions do not allow plugins to be installed.”}}NOTE: that is the error that is shown when trying to install any plugin via addons
thoughts?
IF this is true, little disappointed that Xtheme is behind? I know you all have a great product and update often… maybe this one got by?

Please clear all cache and disable all third party plugins while we investigate.
Thanks.

April 5, 2016 at 8:55 am #867662hello…
i’ve tried that, plus whitelisted my ip (from modsecurity), and installed the plugin for transient cleaner.however, you are saying to disable all plugins (which would make the website not function) for unknown amount of time?
It would make MUCH more sense if you disable plugins while you work/investigate — as opposed to me.
Sound good?Is there a way to speed this up? its been 4 days and it seems we only get 1 question per day? very slow?
thanks
