    I am having an issue with a certain slider I just created in Slider Revolution, in that it is not appearing on the page. I have created two other sliders before this one and they both are appearing on the home page. I am trying to add this third “hero scene” style slider below the 2nd one using Visual composer. It worked perfectly for the 1st slider (named “EChomeSEC1”), but the one named EChomeSEC2 won’t appear on the home page. I duplicated the Slide Revolution element with visual composer for EChomeSEC1 and it shows again. So it appears that there’s some issue with the slider itself (EChomeSEC2), not the page, and not visual composer. I will attached screenshots to clarify what I just explained here, and provide log in credentials in the next post as private.

    Also, additional minor issue, there is a small white gap above the first slider, just below the fold. Screenshot attached. How do I get rid of this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks for writing in!

    1. To remove the gaps, you can add this under Custom > CSS in the Customizer.

    .home .x-container>.offset {
        margin: 0 auto;
    }

    .home .x-content-band {
        margin: 0;
    }

    2. With regards to your slider, please try recreating it from scratch. Try to add just one layer first and see if the slide appears.

    Thanks

    OK…the custom CSS worked great. Thanks!

    But tried a test slide (“testslide1”) and it didn’t work either. For some reason the only one that has worked in that section section below the fold is a duplicate of the 1st slider (EChomeSEC1…the one withe the iphone and laptop)

    Hi There,

    Please change from Hero Scene to Standard if you have more than one slide on the page.

    Let us know how it goes,

    Joao

    That’s not it. The slide that’s not showing is not a “slide show,” meaning…slide 1, then slide 2…and so on. What’s not showing is the next section BELOW what is showing. Look at how I have it on the back-end of the page….it’s a Visual Composer “section”…an element…not “the next slide in a slide show” I want the slides to be hero scenes as you move down the page.

    So my home page should essentially have 3 hero scenes right now….one above the fold, then two below the fold…one above the other.

    Hopefully that clarifies it.

    BUT I did try changing both EChomeSEC1 and EChomeSEC2 from Hero Scene to Standard Slider in the settings nonetheless and it didn’t solve the issue.

    Thanks

    OK…do I need to contact the host (goDaddy)to do this? Their site is on a Managed WordPress hosting acct. What do you think it needs to be increased to, at least?

    Or is this something I can do myself?

    OK…well I had GoDaddy increase the php memory limit to 256mb. It was previously at 64mb. However, I’m not sure that’s the issue, because I added the “EChomeSEC1” slide again below it (just duplicated it) and it showed. So I had 3 slides up there once….the concert one above the fold, then the phone, ipad, laptop one below the fold, then that one again below it.

    Also, new issue, perhaps related, but I wanted to just try adding the slide “EChomeSEC2” to just a new page to test it. When I added the content band, then the Revolution Slider 5 element, when I went to add the slide EChomeSEC2 slide via the pop up window….it wouldn’t let me select any of the slides except “create new” All the slides I’ve created are listed there in the window, but couldn’t select any of them.

    I also, FYI, tried another method and used the short code method (“embed slider”)…I added a Text element box and just pasted the short code in there. Didn’t work either.

    Just tried it again….using the VC element I changed the 2nd slide to EChomeSEC1 (a repeat of the slide above it) and it worked…shows both sliders. But then switch it to EChomeSEC2, and it doesn’t show. So it has to be something with that slide itself. I don’t get it.

    And, FYI…if it matters, EChomeSEC2 was created from the same template that EChomeSEC1 was. Neither of them were created from scratch. And if I go to the slide editor of EChomeSEC2 I can preview the slide and it works fine.

    OK…well here’s a clue…I just checked the home page on my phone, and the slide shows there. So it’s something in the settings….but not sure what?

    But this also raises another weird issue…look at the screen shots attached….certain elements of the slides are responsive and others are not….like the buttons….and the text of the top slider….how do I fix this? The buttons on the top slider are responsive…but not in the other slides. And I can’t turn off sliders on mobile in this case.

    Thanks

    One of the screenshots images was too large…made smaller…attached here.

    Look at the background image of the 2nd slide too…doesn’t seem to be going full width of the mobile screen either.

    Hi there,

    But it does work here https://entertaincapital.com/slider-test/, EChomeSEC2, EChomeSEC1 1st, EChomeSEC2 2nd, test slide, test slide 2. Could it be specific to that page only?

    Yes, other slider isn’t going full screen, which means there is a problem on the slider above them (not properly formatted content).

    Thanks!

    Hello There,

    Thanks for updating in! I did some further investigation. I noticed that you are using PHP version 5.4.42 and WordPress 4.6 requires at least 5.6 (https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). This could possibly be the cause of the issue. In most cases you cannot update your PHP version yourself and need to contact your host about this. The upgrade process is an easy process and should be something your host can do for you without affecting your website or charging you for it. Here’s a letter you can send to your hosting company:

    Dear host,

    I\'m interested in running the open-source WordPress <https://wordpress.org/> web software and
    I was wondering if my account supported the following:

    - PHP 5.6 or greater
    - MySQL 5.6 or greater
    - The mod_rewrite Apache module

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.

    Rad… I don’t understand, “which means there is a problem on the slider above them (not properly formatted content).” OK…so what is the problem then and how do I fix it? The slides themselves look fine when previewed in Slider Revolution, so I don’t understand. Nor do I understand what you mean that it could be because of the formatting of the slide “above them”?

    Plus, what about how the slide looks in mobile…with some layers being responsive and others not?

    Rue Nel….thank you for looking into this! Odd that this would be the issue…over one slide, and the responsiveness of the slides…but I’d like to fix it nonetheless. I am on hold now with their host and will update this ticket when I know. But wanted to submit a response here ASAP. I have to get this issue fixed fast…the client is waiting…it was a rush job.

    Thank you both…
