whollyh2oParticipantHi there,
I have an issue updating to the newest version of X.
Any time I try to update, I lose the content on the Home page (front end), and the WP page editor screen breaks, giving me no fields but the Page Name field and then won’t let me save a new page.
I’ve spent hours on the phone with my hosting company to no avail and they finally requested that I contact you.:) I’ve also disabled all plugins etc. but that doesn’t work either.
They couldn’t tell me anything specific except that I should ask for ‘server requirements’. I don’t know what that means but I’m hoping it will help us resolve the issue! 😀
I am going to send the transcript in a separate private reply, along with my domain and a login.
Thank you in advance!

RupokMemberHi there,
Looks like you are using a very older version of X and Cornerstone. Let’s update both and let us know if anything goes wrong.
Thanks!

whollyh2oParticipantBut, see, that’s exactly my problem 🙁 When I update either or both, the home page loses it’s content on the front end (blank page), and the Page Editor is disabled.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Please backup your site turn off all the third party plugins and perform a manual update.
Do the following,
1. Revoke your API key from X Addons section (check the bottom of the page) and also remove it from your license page on Themeco.
https://community.theme.co/my-licenses/
2. Temporary disable any caching plugins and purge all your server cache.
3. Delete both X theme (/wp-content/themes/x) and Cornerstone plugin (/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone) by connecting to your FTP (your settings will be saved in the database)
4. Download the latest copy of X and upload it to your themes folder via FTP OR you can upload the x.zip via Appearance -> Themes section.
5. Latest version of Cornerstone will be installed automatically when you head over X Addons section. Now you try validating your X theme again and then try to install any other extension and it should function properly.
Once that is done, please let us know.

whollyh2oParticipantThank you, Joao!
I have one question: how do I purge my server cache?
February 14, 2017 at 8:32 pm #1371306
NicoModeratorHi There,
You could contact your hosting regarding that because they might have ways to purge it on their side or they could send you steps on how to do it in your side.
Feel free to let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

whollyh2oParticipantHi!
OK. Here’s what I’ve done:
1. Updated php version to 7.0
2. Updated core WP files
3. Manually updated X themeHere’s the issue: the home page content is invisible. I did write some custom CSS a while back to make the top bar, nav bar, and container transparent (got the code from X Support staff) and that all worked. All of the content showed up until I updated. Now it seems like everything on the page (not just the background) is transparent! I can still hover around and click on invisible links and all of my other pages are visible.
Can you check my Custom CSS? I wonder if that’s the issue. I’m looking at it but don’t understand how it could be wrong..I’ll send my login info in another private message.
Again, thank you in advance for being so helpful! 😀

RadModeratorHi there,
Please add this CSS to Admin > Appearance > Customizer > Custom > CSS
body.transparentt { opacity: 1 !important; }Have you customized it? Body class shouldn’t have the transparent class.
Thanks!
