James BParticipantI recently rebuilt a friends site using X. Everything was great until I got a message this morning saying the header was missing. I can’t get a straight answer on whether or not somebody messed with the site but indeed the header (logo and menu info) are gone and have been replaced with the site title. It’s the same all throughout the site so doesn’t have anything to do with the home page. When I try to fix the header in the customizer, nothing happens. Tried deleting all custom CSS and still nothing. Another odd thing is that the Contact Form 7 plugin has disappeared and I can’t reinstall it. Keep getting an error message that the folder already exists. Any help greatly appreciated!

RupokMemberHi James,
Thanks for writing in! I have checked your site and I can see you are using an extra header maybe with a plugin or your Child Theme. This section is not coming from X – http://prntscr.com/e3un5w and somehow you removed the usual header. Kindly switch to X from Child theme and check what you used to build this section.
Cheers!

James BParticipantI only installed the child theme today though, to see if that would fix the problem, and it didn’t. I deactivated all plugins and that didn’t fix it either. Any other ideas?

James BParticipantAlso, I don’t see any plugin that could have possibly built an extra header. It appears the X header has simply been hidden somehow and the default website title and description is being shown instead. When I go into the customizer and into the header section everything seems normal. CSS hasn’t been touched and even tried deleting all of it. At a total loss here.

KoryKeymasterHey James,
I logged into your site via FTP and noticed that you appeared to be missing your header.php file. I went ahead and included that again for you and all appears to be working as intended. If you did not make these changes to your files, I would recommend contacting your host to see if there is an issue with the serve you are on. Child themes are always recommended as a best practice when editing styles or templates in your theme to ensure that your updates are kept safe from updates.
Have a great day and don’t hesitate to let us know if you need anything further!

James BParticipantThanks Kory and everyone else. I truly appreciate it! Will be switching over to X Hosting asap just in case this was a hosting issue. Cheers!
