Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.
Thanks.
September 24, 2014 at 1:11 pm #111635Hi there
Thanks for the reply.
I have completely reinstalled X.
The problem persists.
I have deduced that the header and menu disappear in Safari when there is a submenu in the primary navigation.
I have taken the submenus out until this is resolved
Thanks again
Damionchrome with a dropdown menu as primary works
safari with a dropdown primary menu does not work
safari with no dropdown menu as primary works

Okay, thanks for providing these information.
Would you mind providing an admin login? I’d like to create a private test and find solution for your sub-menu.
Thanks!

Thank you for writing in!
Similar to how we discontinued IE8 support, we will no longer be supporting Safari 5 or older. Those browsers are now longer in Apple’s release cycle, and neither is Snow Leopard. Safari 5 is not fully HTML5 compliant, and has been known to have rendering issues with CSS3.
If you’re having menu issues, you can try adding this CSS under Customizer > CSS > Custom.
.masthead *, .x-slider-revolution-container *, .site .entry-featured *{ -webkit-transform: none !important; -webkit-transition: !important; }
We’re sorry we can’t support Safari 5 in the theme itself. There may be a more permanent solution we can offer in the future, but with it being an older browser, and quite an unpopular version (http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php) weβre unable to focus on this right now. We’re certainly committed to making X the best it can be in modern browsers and devices!
Thanks for understanding. Take care!
September 26, 2014 at 1:41 pm #113331OK well thats not much of a solution. Ill bet when we are driving our flying cars you wont be able to use that excuse for the people that are still using combustion engines as to why the roads are no longer repaired but it is a fancy theme so thanks.
The code didnt work btwSeptember 26, 2014 at 3:09 pm #113390Hi there,
You’re welcome π
We’re not the developer of these non-standard and older browsers, so we can’t really enable them with the standard required by most modern site. And we’re not probably the owner of that road where we can’t just touch them, because if we are then we will repair it without any question π
Browser developers releases new versions of their browser to replace older one. They will not gonna go back and fix what’s on older version and maintain the same old version. So if we stick to that, then we will gonna fall behind too π
Thank you for understanding.
