Ok guys (Themeco),

It has been nearly a year but I see you still haven’t found a solution or solved the problem. So after racking my brain for 5 hours I have Sherlocked a solution.

Problem: Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError or some were seeing it displaying twice after your function fix.

Solution: In your Uber menu under the “General Settings” uncheck “Load Google Maps API” This is on by default and if you are creating a contact page and decide to drop in the Google map you will either end up with MissingKeyMapError or an error saying you are displaying it multiple times.

Side-note: don’t forget to include your api key in one of the designated areas. Also if you are still seeing the error check your other plugin options that may be loading the google map key and make sure you only enter in once.

Note: Themeco you should change the default option to unchecked to remove the confusion.

Thanks for writing in.

Yes, it’s known solution and we’ve been recommending it for Ubermenu users. We can’t control how the Ubermenu default options should behave since it’s not our plugin, but we could forward it as a feature request.

It’s only normal to turn off google API on other plugins since google now restricts it to one instance only. Any plugin could load their own map API and there is no permanent solution as of yet.
