I was creating 34 products with Variations using WooCommerce for my shop.
I hit save or update and when the page refreshed my new product with variations was not there. I assumed I had missed a step or failed to give the product a name before creating variations or something like that?

    So…
I have now re-created the products but it wont allow me to give the variations the correct SKU’s as it says ” Variation SKU must be unique”
I believe the SKU’s from 1st attempt to create the products are now preventing me from creating the products SKUs?
The products from the 1st attempt are no where to be seen, so I don’t know what to do?
How can I fix this problem?

Maybe this is a question for WooCommerce but they don’t offer support for free installs.
Also any questions I have asked them in the past don’t seem to get answered.

Thanks for the reply. These don’t seem to fix my problem.
I believe there are duplicate products hidden in the database? Is there a way to view the database and remove the products if this is the case?

    Hello There,

Please make sure that you have empty your Product’s trash (bin). If the product is still in your trash, you won’t be able to create the same product id and variation skus. Emptying your trash should allow you to add the same variation sku.

    Hi Scott,

You can try this third party plugin to remove any hidden products in the database.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-store-toolkit/

Just make sure to have a complete backup of your site before using it.

    Hope that helps.
