    I’m trying to rebuild my site from scratch. I created a clean WP installation and uploaded X.zip as a new plugin, and got the following:

    Installing Plugin from uploaded file: x.zip
    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

    Plugin install failed.

    Hello There,

    Thanks for writing in!

    Please note that X is a WordPress theme, it’s not a plugin. PLease install X from Appearance > Theme > Add New > Upload Theme.
