    Hello,

I am having some issues in posting video formatted links (such as youtube) while using the integrity stack.

The error I am getting is as follows:

    video source missing

I have attempted to use the regular editor as well as cornerstone, and both seem to produce the same results, and the same error is generated.

I am linking some images here to show what I am referring to in a bit more detail:

I also looked at the following post on your support forums:
    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/cornerstone-video-player-not-working/

Unfortunately there was so much redacted/private information that I was not able to fully see any solution to the issue in question.

If you could look into this issue I would appreciate it.

    Hey there,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your login and problem pages
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Thanks.

I replicated your setup in my test site and I don’t get the issue. With that said, this is not an issue with X nor Cornerstone.

Please deactivate all your third party plugins, scripts and customizatiosn and test if the issue persists

    Thanks..

    Hello Christian,

Apologies for the delay in responding. I am not sure if I completely agree that this may not be an issue with X or Cornerstone, as when I changed the theme to WordPress’ 2016 just to test. The “video source missing” message was no longer evident. For now I will leave the 2016 theme in place, until I can identify what is causing the message to be displayed with X. Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Eli

    Hello Eli,

We’re sorry you’re still having this issue. Would you mind activating X theme again so we can continue checking?

    Hello Lely,

I’ve re-activated the theme, please take a look as needed. If there is anything else I need to do to make the process of troubleshooting easier please let me know. As stated earlier the message only seems to come up within X itself, just not sure why it would be complaining about a missing video source as it is just a YouTube link within the post.

    Thanks,
    Eli

    Hey Eli,

In this post http://3li0.com/index.php/2017/01/17/cornerstone-draft/, the Youtube video works buy you’re using the Video Player element which is for self-hosted video use only. Please use the Embedded Video element. Nonetheless, the Youtube video works.

Also created a test post where I just pasted the Youtube link in the default WordPress editor and it works http://3li0.com/index.php/2017/02/15/test/

If that is not the issue, please give us a quick video recording.

    Thanks.

    Hi Eli,

Thanks for providing the video. Please keep in mind that X is different from other themes in terms of managing the post formats. In X, the featured image will be replaced by a video if the post format is set to video. You will likely to encounter the error “video source missing” if you haven’t inserted the featured video because of course, it needs to display in the featured video area. To fully understand how we implement post formats in X, please check this out: https://community.theme.co/kb/wordpress-post-formats-explained/

Once you have selected Video as your post format, you must supply the video details in the Video Post Settings. To know more about this post meta option, please check this out: https://community.theme.co/kb/meta-options-posts/

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the explanation, this helps quite a bit. I will make sure to make the appropriate changes then.

Thanks so much for your help!

    Regards,
    Eli
