Hello to you all

Another question my client had was that the site visitors get the direction to google maps option in the map.

I have used the google map element but i don’t see any setting to get this.

Hi there Richard!

Hope you’re well today and thanks for your question.

Currently with the Google map element itself, it won’t show the directions setting, but if you use the shortcode [map] instead it will show the directions, as can be seen in the examples here http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/shortcodes/map/ 🙂

As you can see i have made a custom map marker. That will be gone I guess..?

Hi there Richard,

Unfortunately the map shortcode isn’t compatible with a custom map marker.

As a workaround if you want to use the custom map marker, would it work including a either a embed of the map underneath with directions or creating a custom link with a “click here for directions” link.

For example, here’s one I created https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Waterloo+Station,+Waterloo+Road,+London+SE1+8SW,+United+Kingdom/London+Eye,+London+SE1+7PB,+United+Kingdom/@51.5041649,-0.1182308,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x487604b9c09f521d:0x1d0598197b5003ba!2m2!1d-0.1123051!2d51.5031653!1m5!1m1!1s0x487604b900d26973:0x4291f3172409ea92!2m2!1d-0.119543!2d51.503324

But with a link, you could just have it show as “Click here to get directions”.
