TPL99ParticipantHi,
I’m having trouble figuring out how to put fullwidth boxes (like horizontal sections) of color or imagery to sit below the content of my site.April 24, 2016 at 12:54 pm #897607

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! Sections are fullwidth when you are using fullwidth layout. So just add a background color for the section to get this – http://prntscr.com/awifft
Cheers!

TPL99ParticipantHi,
I am working on a test page on my site to make this work. Could you take a look at it? I put a slider in with two slides and images. However, on the first slide there is a strange blue box at the bottom that says 1200×600. I don’t know how it got there and can’t figure out how to get rid of it.Also, is it possible to put a non-rectilinear cutout image or text boxes that are static and consistent over the moving slides? ie, the cutout image does not move but the slides do. I would like the static image to stay large in mobile view too, not get shrunken down like the wide full screen image…

TPL99ParticipantHi,
I can play with the slider some more. I guess I have two basic questions:-what is the best image width size and pixel size for an image that I want to put in a fullwidth of page slider?
-is it possible to add an image that floats over a slider? i.e. the slider will change but the image on top will not. And, can the image on top be a cutout that does not have rectangular boundaries, for instance a cutout of a person. How is this achieved in cornerstone? If I knew the basics of doing this I can probably figure the rest out. I have a photoshop image of a cutout person all ready to go.
thanks

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
If you want to have a fullwidth slider, I guess the decent image dimension you need is at least 1200 x 1200 pixels. You can make use of the Slider Revolution plugin which you can install by going to X Addons > Extensions. And yes it is also possible to have a floating image over your slider. Depending on how you setup the page, there are several ways you can achieve that. And I would highly recommend that you create your page in Cornerstone. It can easily be done in a few steps. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.
Please let us know how it goes.

TPL99ParticipantHi, thanks for the help. I will work on the revolution slider. In the meantime, can I just have several background images that fade in and out of a section? I can’t see how to do that in the cornerstone interface. If you look at my homepage, I have the layout I want, but I would like the background of the top section to fade in and out of several other images. If I can’t do it that way then I will work on doing it with a revolution slider.

NicoModeratorHi There,
To have a slider background in a section is not possible using cornerstone however you can use revolution slider to be added in your cornerstone to create a background slideshow.
Add the revolution slider alias in the text element or raw element to use the rev slider in cornerstone.
Hopt it helps.
Thanks.
