    Some strange thing,

been playing with WP and X theme for a while – beginning to get to grips a bit more now.

    I have 3 pages – I have set 1 static frontpage – Portfolio
1 posts / blog page where new releases go
1 static about page, been playing with cornerstone on that one.

but — whichever page i set as my front-page – i have started losing both the footer and the WordPress customize and back-end bar at the top – if i change the pages around – or make new ones and get rid of old ones – which I then set to be the static front-page, same thing, loses these aspects !

I recently installed revolution slider also. not sure if there’s some conflicts.. I’m still new to all this.

you can see here, http://www.meschene.com – i would rather have the ‘about’ page as homepage bu don’t want to lose the ability to edit it…

never mind – i figured it was because i’d installed rev slider – clashes with X somehow and removes the footer and customiser on whichever page is set to static front page –

just tried turning on and off different plugins till it worked…

drat – i wanted to use that rev slider 🙁 – something tells me cornerstone can almost do wht it does… i hope.

    Hi Bildreth,

Thanks for writing in! Revolution Slider must not conflict with the X theme. There must be another third party plugin conflict that could be causing the problem. You can activate the Revolution Slider and disable all third party plugins then see if it works.

Let us know how this goes!

    Hi Nabeel,

I tested your idea but it is definitely rev slider.

in the image you can see it is the only thing active.

when this is the case .. the problem occurs.

turn it off- and others back on – no problems. so it must be it?

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.

    Hello Bildreth,

    Thank you for the clarification.
I found this error on the console:
x-head.min.js?ver=4.4.2:1 Uncaught TypeError: c.hoverIntent is not a function
And then this code is on you Customizer > Javascript:

    1
    [evp_embed_video url="http://example.com/wp-content/uploads/videos/vid1.mp4"]

I have remove above code because it will cause error. The issue was still there.
Please go to Revslider > Global Settings > Insert JavaScript Into Footer: Set this to ON. Then try again. If the issue still exists after this, would you mind reinstalling X theme? Please delete x folder on wp-content/themes via FTP then install it again. The theme might be corrupted because you don’t have a plugin or any custom codes that might cause conflict. Do let us know how this goes.

    Hi,

i tried adding rev slider to footer, it didn’t work.

Thanks for getting back, but I don’t understand how to remove X folder via FTP and reinstall it again as you say…

Could you provide the steps I need to take?

Also – is there a way of backing up everything as it now is? I do have a database backup plugin, which drops files in Dropbox but I don’t understand how to use them .. and not sure if they would keep media library as it is.

If I uninstall – whats the best plugin to get my X back to how it was before uninstalling, or would that simply re-create the problem… ?

    Thanks Lely,

    Bildreth.

    Hi there,

If you have the database backup, that’s all you need.

Here are the steps to follow :

    1. Login to your FTP (If you do not have the credentials, just ask from your host)
    2. Use FileZilla (google it) and use the FTP credentials to login to FTP
    3. Once you are logged in, navigate to the wp-content > themes folder
    4. Find X and delete it
    5. Download a fresh copy, upload the folder

Let us know if you still find any confusions.

    Thanks!

When you say ‘log into your FTP… [for me that means log into your file transfer protocol, which is odd.)

i need FTP credentials – from my host – presumably that would be go daddy ? – then d-load and install something called filezilla and use the FTP credentials gained from go daddy to log into it.

I should then be able to navigate to the path you describe ? ‘the wp-content > themes folder’

find X and delete it.. ok

dload fresh copy of x – hmm – none of this sounds quick or easy. upload the folder to wordpress again ?

    confused.

    Hi thanks for reponse,

I’m afraid that although I am fine in some areas of IT – I get confused by the language.

    1. Log into your FTP – [what does that mean] ?

    2. Why do i need FileZilla to log into my FTP if step one was to log into my FTP using credentails provided by host ?

    3. Once logged in, navigate to wp-content>themes folder [i understand once i’m in, this should be self explanatory] and delete X.

    4. Download a fresh copy – presumably from themeco?

    Hi there,

    1. You will use any FTP client (software) that will allow you to connect to your site through FTP’s standard/technology. It’s a protocol, but when someone said “through FTP” then that means it deals with both client and server that uses FTP standard. Your site is the server that implements the protocol, and your software is the one that connects to the server that follows the protocol.

    2. Filezilla is the software (client). And a client is always required to manage files from remote FTP server (your site). Each software has their own UI hence, you must ready their documentation to familiarize its control. It always requires FTP login credentials, unless the server allows the anonymous connection.

    3. From ThemeForest where you bought the theme, it should be under the download section.

    Thanks!
