Hi there,
I’ve been working on a new site. Today I’ve launched it and looked at it without being logged in (we’ve been using the construction plugin) for the first time. Bizarrely, when we’re not logged in the font looks totally different from when we are logged in. What could that be please?
Thanks.

This is because of your .truetext class (see http://prntscr.com/72f3hb) that uses Open Sans as font-family. I’ve checked your Typography settings and Custom Fonts is disabled. This brings into conclusion that you’re loading Open Sans elsewhere and that is where the problem is. Please check.
Thanks.
May 7, 2015 at 4:19 am #268026I’m not sure how to proceed. The .truetxt class was a copy of the largewhitebg class from the revolution slider.
We are seeing the same problem with the slider. When we are logged in the font is displayed correctly, but when we log out it isn’t.
Can you please check?

As mentioned, this is because your body font is “Lato” while the custom class using “Open Sans” (see: http://prntscr.com/72iorx). In this case, if you wish to keep the Open Sans font, you can select this font sitewide under Typography > Body and Content > Body Font in the Customizer (see: http://prntscr.com/72ip63). Before that, make sure you have enabled custom fonts under Typography > Custom Fonts.
Thanks!
May 7, 2015 at 7:58 am #268121Are you suggesting that I don’t use my .truetxt class, but instead use the customiser?
Is that the suggestion?
But, I don’t understand why the font changes when I’m logged out, vs, when I’m logged in.
I’ve changed the font in the customiser, but it still looks different – both in the content of the pages, and in the revolution slider.
May 7, 2015 at 12:15 pm #268304Hi Josef,
Upon testing myself, I couldn’t able to replicate your issue, i.e., different font on logged in and different on logged out (this is because Open Sans font is installed in my system). The provided solution is just to ensure if you need the “Open Sans” font sitewide, then you can use Customizer option.
Upon taking a closer look, I understand what’s causing the issue. “Open Sans” is a default WordPress admin font, that means, when you are logged in, it will automatically be imported from Google in your website (see: http://prntscr.com/72m3ja). At the other hand, when are logged out, WordPress won’t import this font. That is the reason of your issue.
So, to fix this, you’ll need to import “Open Sans” font in your website manually. You can do it using Punch Fonts (see: http://prntscr.com/72m59d). Simply follow their instructions and add “Open Sans” in your website and the issue should be resolved.
Hope this helps. 🙂
Thank you.
