    Hello,

    This is probably an easy fix lol!

    1.) I’d like to make the background white and text black
    2.) I’d like the picture from the post to show as well

    Hi There,

    Instead of using the default recent post widget of WordPress. You can try with the recent posts shortcode(http://theme.co/x/demo/renew/1/shortcodes/recent-posts/), drag & drop the text widget to your sidebar then paste the shortcode to the text widget content:

    Hi there,

    Widgets are not editable in CS, you should add shortcode in text widget area.

    You can simply add the shortcode into your WordPress editor.

    Please add a text widget under Appearance -> Widgets and insert recent posts shortcode as we described in previous replay https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/fix-recent-posts/#post-885596.

    Then we’ll help you with background and font color.
