    Hi,

On my blog index page the featured images are full size. They are unnecessarily huge and slows the site down. How can I use the same size image than the actual featured image on an individual post’s page?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing.

Your WordPress automatically resize the image, I checked to confirm it. If you’re referring to blog home page’s thumbnails, then please try installing Force regenerate thumbnails plugin and generate your images again. Then let us know when done and I’ll continue checking.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks for your reply. Yes, I mean the blog home page’s thumbnails. I have already regenerated thumbnails with Simple Image Sizes plugin. The same problem seems to be on your demo site.

There is an image of headphones, and at least Firefox loads the original image (1200px × 800px) if you check from Tools menu > Page info > Media.

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing back. On blog listing page on Ethos, the featured images are used as background image so it will use the full image. You can use a standard resolution instead of large size and optimize the image before upaloding with a tool like this – http://compressor.io/

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

how can I use a standard resolution image on the blog listing page? Do you mean that I should resize an image before uploading or is there a setting in X that’s easy to change?

Is it possible to use a specific image size by editing php files? I would like to use exactly the same as the post’s featured image

    Hi there,

Thanks for updating. You can control the sizing by editing php file using Child Theme but that would be more complex. You can just use optimized and standard resolution image to upload.

    Cheers!
