We believe it is important to credit the different authors that write for our blog. In the template there currently is no author box included in the blog section. I would have to add it through a shortcode. However this is cumbersome, and we’d have to remember to do it for every publication.
Would it be possible to add the possibility to add a selector in the customizer where you can indicate if this is a multi-author blog, and when it is selected display an author box in blog posts automatically?
Thank you!
January 29, 2014 at 7:50 am #9317Hey Han,
thank you for this feedback, we will be looking into this and see if we can make something like this happen and put it into one of our future updates. Your suggestion makes a lot of sense for more “magazineish” driven themes and therefore it’s worth a consideration. We will always try to make our customers happy so they love the theme as much as we do.
January 29, 2014 at 8:20 am #9320Thank you very much. I fell in love with the looks of this theme as well as its possibilities.
One of the websites I would like to apply this theme to is not so much an on-line magazine, but we do have several external authors contributing.
I do believe this theme is very suitable for building on-line magazines and webapps, and my hands are itching to get started 🙂January 29, 2014 at 12:39 pm #9368Sounds great! Thanks again for your feedback. 🙂
February 6, 2014 at 12:29 pm #11705+1 this feature. It is very cumbersome to add the shortcode to every blog post. I found this thread in a search to determine if there was a way to make the shortcode universally appear at the bottom of every post.

A lot of posts on the site I’m creating will be collaboratory, and we can’t really use the included author element for those. I don’t much care if it’s automatic or not. Just has to be clean and simple. Basically, we need there to also be a custom author element, so that we can enter / choose a user and have the name, image, links, and information be called from that user profile.
This is also relevant in terms of the displayed post meta.
Anyway, thanks. :T

January 23, 2015 at 3:18 pm #190342+1 I’d really really really like to see the option to automatically add the author box on articles–especially for Ethos which is supposed to be for blogging.

April 23, 2015 at 6:20 am #256582+1 I agree! This would be a very important feature! Do update us on this.
Is there an ability to have a circle picture with different author names and credentials next to it on a post? I want to have friends featured on my site for interviews with them or just their articles, but there’s no place to put their photo (in a circular way). Thank you very much!
April 23, 2015 at 8:33 am #256664Could you please open up a new thread with your query by explaining your requirement with a little bit more information? so that we should be able to help you with a possible workaround.
April 27, 2016 at 3:25 am #901649+1 for me to!
A nice looking 100% compatible, x-theme authorbox plugin would be nice. -
