    Hello,

    I try to set up a favicon for my website. I have a uploaded the 2 images for the touch icon and the tile icon and I have created a favicon file with an online generator (see attached file).
    When I try to upload the favicon.ico in the media library I got an error message saying:
    “LadyPlansfavicon.ico” has failed to upload.
    Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.’

    Please advise.

    Hi Julie,

    Thanks for writing in! Yes, by default WordPress library does not accept .ico file. Please upload your icons via FTP instead. You can upload it on the root WP directory or on the \wp-content\uploads\.
