KeithatStormParticipantHi Guys
How can I remove the faux bold from my headlines? I’m using a standard Google font ‘Varela round’. It’s particularly visible on the contact storm page.
url:stormadvertising.com
Wordpress version: 4.7.2
X version: 4.6.4
Cornerstone version: 1.3.3Best regards

RahulModeratorHey There,
Thanks for writing in!
We’re unable to replicate it. Can you please provide us with a Screenshot so we can take a closer look of it? This way we can provide you a perfect solution.
Thanks for understanding!

KeithatStormParticipantHi Rahul
I’ve attached a screenshot. I added a copy of the headline below the real one into the screenshot so you can compare.
Interestingly, the effect is not apparent when you edit the page in Cornerstone but returns when you view the page normally.
Best regards

KeithatStormParticipantHi Joao
Thanks for your suggestion. I’ve tried it out but it doesn’t work, sorry. I’ve tried a few variations on your suggestion but I can’t find anything that works.
The effect is clear on the home page if you check it out in Safari. On that page there are two custom headlines both h2 set to look like h3, the top one appears to be bold while the next one down the page doesn’t. If you view them in Chrome they both appear bold.
Varella Round has only one weight; 400. I’ve tried using that setting, rather than 100 but that doesn’t work. I’ve also tried “text-shadow:none;” and “text-decoration:none;” They don’t work. I’m afraid I’m a bit stuck.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Best regards

RadModeratorHi there,
From your screenshot, the upper one is the correct one. I compared it here https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Varela+Round ( add “Contact Storm” ) and it’s the same from the one on top.
Thanks!

KeithatStormParticipantHi Rad
It definitely looks slightly bolder to me, but maybe I’m being too fussy.
It’s probably a built-in WordPress function that can’t be over-ridden.
I’ve now given up. I’ll just leave it bolder and live with it.
Thanks for trying.
Best regards
