Hi There,
I am using the Facebook Comments plugin for our blogs and I am not sure what has happened recently but for some very random reason all the comments have disappeared from our blog?
This is extremely concerning as we had lots of comments on many blogs. Can you please check this for me?
It is super urgent for us to sort this please.
Thanks, John

Please try testing for a plugin conflict first. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Thanks.

I have just tried this and still nothing. No comments at all. How can they just disappear?
April 6, 2016 at 6:05 pm #870223Hi John,
Are there any changes you made before the Facebook comments disappeared? If so, kindly let us know about those changes as it might help us to check on this issue? Also, kindly provide us with the FTP details of your site in a private response.
Thank you!

I have only done the regular updates in wordpress. I haven’t actually made any other changes to this website other than update wordpress, plugins and Theme X.
SFTP Details to follow. I am using WP Engine to host so it’s SFTP

Please disable all third party plugins and remove social widgets or scripts temporarily while we investigate. I see that you could FB comment on the page though (see attachment).
Thanks.
April 13, 2016 at 4:26 am #879658Yes, you can write a comment which is fine, BUT all our comments that were there before have gone. This is my concern.
I cannot disable 3rd party plugins here. This site gets too much traffic and we rely on the plugins for many functions. There must be another way
April 13, 2016 at 9:28 am #880091Hi there @johncastro,
Sorry to hear of the issues you’re having with this, the actual data of the comments is stored by Facebook, in the same way likes are, so they are stored on Facebooks servers and not actually the site itself. It’s possibly something’s happened that end of the spectrum. Can you check your Facebook App is still approved in the Facebook developers center please?
Thanks!
