Hi all,
I would like to know how can I incorporate the extended latin Google fonts. I have chosen a font with extended latin characters (which I need), but there is no option to turn it on. I have searched through the forum and haven’t found any sensible solution. Can you please help me?
July 27, 2016 at 2:55 pm #1105792Hi There,
Thanks for writing in.
Please see the links below for ways you add your font to any WordPress theme.
http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/custom-fonts-css/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/use-any-font/Hope that helps..
Thanks.
July 28, 2016 at 4:50 am #1106843I think it is not good solution. As far as I know I only need to add &subset=latin,latin-ext’ somewhere to the theme where Google fonts are linked, so installing any plugin is a bit overkill. Not mentioning the Use any font is not free if you want to use more than one font.
July 28, 2016 at 10:02 am #1107172Hi there,
Thanks for writing back. We don’t recommend any third party plugin as we don’t provide support for them. Also the preference varies user to user; so I’d suggest you to find the best fit for your requirements.
Cheers!
July 28, 2016 at 11:34 am #1107322I am not sure that we understand each other correctly. I AM the ONE who thinks that the solution should not require any plugins, it is your colleague who proposed third party plugin as solution.
I just want to know where can I set the support for latin extended characters ON without any plugins.
July 28, 2016 at 2:05 pm #1107545Hi there,
You can set the available Google Fonts from Customize > Typography. You can enable the “Google Fonts Subsets” to avail custom subsets for expanded character sets. But if you don’t find your options then the mentioned plugins will be great help.
Cheers!
