mhooijerParticipantHi there,
For some reason i cannot add any SEO attributes to my homepage of my Ethos webpage.
Normally i would add them under the Page section, but i guess Ethos is not a real page. Please assist.
Kind Regards,

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for providing the information. Yes you are correct that for normal pages, you can easily add the Title, description and keywords right under the page section. Since you have selected to display the latest posts as your home page, you can set the SEO details in Yoast SEO general settings instead. Please make sure that you have set up everything. Simply go to SEO > DashBoard > General tab. For more detailed instruction how you can setup Yoast SEO plugin, please check it here: https://yoast.com/wordpress-seo/
Hope this helps.

mhooijerParticipantThat’s correct. I filled in this tab.
But i also need to set the description and keywords it shows on Google.Jan 26, 2017 – The Riding Dutchman. The Riding Dutchman. Navigation. Home · Reizen; Search. Home · Reizen; Search. Mijn eerste echte tourmotor …
This is what it shows now on google (old page)
But i want to be able to add some custom text like in Yoast.February 9, 2017 at 3:34 am #1364048
Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for updating in! Whatever Google displays it would be coming from the index cache. You will have to wait for a couple of days or ask Google to re index your site so that the new descriptions you have added in Yoast SEO will be displayed. For more details about the Google’s result, please check these links:

mhooijerParticipantHi rue,
The inforamtion from the cache is from the same Ethos environment which had the same data in Yoast as i just entered. So i guess it will still be the same.
Any idea how i can add it manually, if needed?
Or is it otherwise possible to re-create the static lastpost page, to a Page?February 9, 2017 at 6:38 am #1364209
ChristianModeratorEthos is a blog page so meta settings should be configured in Yoast SEO.
Other solutions are possible but that would require custom development which is outside the scope of our support.
Thanks.

mhooijerParticipantHi Christian,
Where do i find the Ethos homepage configfile/styling? I would like to check if i can manually add the Metadata etc.
Yoast SEO General is a globalconfig, which does not add anything to the homepage or any page. This needs to be added on the “Page” which Ethos does not haveReally love the Ethos theme and don’t want to change it.
Kind regards,

Rue NelModeratorHey Justin,
Thanks for updating in! When you set your homepage to display the latest posts which is set in Settings > Reading >
Front page displays. This applies to all WordPress installation and Ethos stack is using this setting. The page meta on this page were taken from the general settings or in Settings > General. By default, you do not have controls over this meta and that is why we have suggested that you use a 3rd party plugin Yoast SEO plugin instead. You have to insert the meta and keywords from the settings; http://prntscr.com/e6w5yoAlternatively, you can create a page entitled “My Home Page”. You can add the SEO meta through the Page section and then assign this page as your homepage in Settings > Reading > Front page displays as your front page as well as your front page.
Hope this helps.

mhooijerParticipantHi Rue,
Thank you for your reply!
First of all my apologies, i might have missed the part about the “Lastest Posts”
Now i’ve created a page called “Homepage” so i will be able to set Yoast for it. I’ve set it as a Static Blog page in “Reading”As of now, i think it is just how i wanted 🙂
Thanks again for the superb support!!
