thank you for doing this Paul, however, i wasn’t looking to change how it looked visually before. All i wanted was for the video to appear as the featured image to save having to manually find and add a separate featured image. As the other stacks have this feature, i thought it would be reasonably simple to do but it seems not.

Also, it has knocked out my post carousel at the top of the page – it is now empty.

Again, thank you for your time, i’ll have to rethink this page

If you believe that we didn´t get your point or missunderstood you please make a sketch or a mockup of your idea and we will let you know if that is possible or not without the need of hiring a developer.

Also rethinking the design is always a good alternative and you might find a even more interesting design than you what had previously thought of 🙂

Hi,
I’m not sure what was done by Paul but i deleted both the files i was instructed to create in the child theme and deleted the snippet of code in customiser to restore everything back to normal but now i have no portfolio items showing and my post carousel is still showing nothing on the video page.
Could you please tell me how to get back to where i was in the first place?

I simply wanted to have “media as featured image” as it is an option in Icon – a stack i used on another site i built. (I’ve attached a screenshot of that site.)
Maybe this could be added in a later version of x-theme?

Hi there,

Carousel is Etho’s feature only, your current stack is Renew where there is no any carousel. Deleting your custom files will also delete the carousel that you added through customization.

Would you mind restoring those files back?

No, i’m using ETHOS. Please read the thread.
The link was to another site i built using Renew simply as an example of how i wanted to be able to use the media as featured image.
I just want to get my page back to normal.
To clarify, THIS is the page in question http://thesunflowerjam.com/video/
All page content has disappeared as well as the carousel content.

Please would you consider adding the use media as featured image to Ethos. It’s very useful!
